"To provide a safe and nurturing environment to enable humans and horses to learn and grow together''. Starting with sessions on the ground to teach safety and confidence and to encourage our sharers to form a relationship with their ponies. We specialise in teaching liberty and free-riding - using the least amount of pressure to train our ponies.
Pony share sessions are one and a half hours per week or fortnight (shorter slots available for young children and longer slots may be available on request). The minimum age is 3 but there is no upper age limit and no experience is necessary.
During the first session we assess the student and match them with a pony, taking into account confidence level, energy and personality. The student will then have the same pony each week.
For the first four to six lessons we teach safety and ground skills and once you have some communication on the ground you can start riding. You don't have to ride - you can stay on the ground and continue to learn horse psychology, care, ground skills and liberty.
We don't have an indoor school, so on wet or very hot days we learn horse care and psychology which are essential in the training of good horsemen and women.
Whilst all sessions are fully supervised, the emphasis is on giving students the resources and tools to learn and progress themselves. Maximum number of students per session is five and each student has their own helper to guide them.
We also offer ad-hoc lessons for anyone on holiday in our area, or if you just fancy a one off lesson.
For more information either contact us for a chat or visit to watch a session.
We welcome sharers with physical, mental or emotional difficulties and can tailor sessions to suit.
